Git repository error: object not found - cannot read header

What happened:
While running a GitHub action the following error was reporter: object not found - cannot read header for (99c79a2f263992dc64e6c78fe942a9de47aee318)

Looking up the issue locally seems to indicate a blob is handled as commit instead.

Further analysis show this might more be related to how GitHub sparse checkout work that seems to be different from:

git clone --no-checkout https://github.com/gardenlinux/python-gardenlinux-lib.git
git sparse-checkout init
git sparse-checkout set cliff.toml
git checkout main
