Hey Lucide community! 👋

I built OpenHive — an open-source, self-hosted Slack alternative, and Lucide React is used for every single icon in the app.

How we use Lucide

OpenHive uses lucide-react extensively across the entire UI:

• Sidebar navigation — Hash (channels), Users (DMs), Bell (activity), Settings
• Message actions — SmilePlus (reactions), MessageSquare (threads), Pin, Bookmark
• Rich text input — Bold, Italic, Link, Paperclip (file upload), Send
• Call controls — Phone, Video, Mic, MicOff, Monitor (screen share)
• Status indicators — Circle, CheckCircle, AlertCircle
• Workspace management — Plus, Search, MoreVertical, LogOut

Lucide provides the perfect balance of clarity and consistency for a messaging UI. The icons are clean, recognizable, and the React components make them trivial to use with Tailwind for sizing and color.

Tech Stack

• Icons: Lucide React
• Frontend: Next.js 14 + TypeScript + Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui
• State: Zustand
• Backend: Supabase (PostgreSQL, Auth, Realtime, Storage)
• Calls: LiveKit WebRTC
