Currently within Pathology the patient demographic data is sent with all other information, e.g. ServiceRequest, Observation, etc.
With PDS being the single source of truth PDM achitect (Chris Rees) has suggested that PDM SHALL NOT store any demographic data. Instead, the NHS number is verified at source and any systems needing demographic data will retrieve from PDS.
This is being tested in alpha phase
From an Interop perspective, with no Patient resource, the extension UKCore-NHSNumberVerificationStatus cannot be used as it only allows Patient.identifier.
Suggest opening this up to allow extension to be used on any Identifier datatype.
It is expected the NHS Number will be verfied when requesting a service, so will only appear on the ServiceRequest.
Create documentation on when to add extension, and when not
change extension.context
