💡 What:

  • Extracted static INITIAL_BADGES and CATEGORIES definitions outside component scope in client/src/components/badges/SecurityAchievementBadges.tsx.
  • Replaced 30+ nested array .filter() / .reduce() operations with a single O(N) pass inside useMemo for category statistics and overall score calculation.
  • Memoized filtered and sorted badges with useMemo to prevent re-sorting on view mode toggles or parent re-renders.

🎯 Why:
On every render (and view toggle), the component previously recreated 23 badge object instances with React JSX elements, and executed 30 array iterations across 10 categories to calculate progress metrics.

📊 Impact:

  • Reduces array passes for category calculations from 30 passes (O(Categories * N)) down to 1 pass (O(N)).
  • Eliminates recreation of 23 object instances and JSX icon elements on every render.
  • Prevents unnecessary array filtering and sorting when toggling view mode or on parent re-renders.
