docs: add AGENTS.md and document AI-friendly workflow - #59

Adds a root AGENTS.md following the agents.md convention: repository map, build and test commands, project conventions, the API compatibility surfaces that must not drift, git/PR workflow, and explicit boundaries for automated contributors.
