Multiple filter circuit models (PT1, MS1, and custom designs)
The Drop is an analog modelled resonant filter plug-in based on classic analog synth filters, as well as completely new designs. The original structure of the circuits is preserved in each model, as is the location and shape of all major non-linearities.

High-pass and low-pass filter modes
Eleven filter models are on offer, many of them classic synthesiser filters updated to run in stereo with Cytomic's precision modelling, plus newly designed circuits by Cytomic including high pass versions of many filters that originally only came in low pass.

Resonant filter with self-oscillation
Two analog modelled envelopes are based on the classic envelope circuit of the Moog Taurus. They have been extended to allow triggering from different sources, and behave either as AHR envelopes or as envelope followers for auto wah type effects.

Audio-rate LFO modulation
The Drop has both high and low pass filters which can be run in High Detail or Medium Detail (HD / MD) modes, and in series or parallel. Each filter will self oscillate with high resonance, and a safe button can prevent this. The filter visualiser shows an accurate frequency response of the combined filtering and the modulated position of both filters.

Keytracking support

Drive/saturation controls
High quality oversampling reduces aliasing by any amount, at the cost of a little latency and cpu, with separate settings for realtime use and offline renders (x2 realtime and x8 offline recommended). Zero latency operation is possible by disabling all oversampling, and minimum, intermediate or linear phase modes trade latency against phase alignment.

Mix/Range/Sidechain High Pass knobs
The Glue is an analog modelled compressor plug-in based on the classic 80's British big console buss compressor with some handy additional features. The compressor action is smooth and transparent as it uses the same high quality algorithms used in circuit simulators, but optimised to run fast. In addition to the regular compressor controls it has: Mix / Range / Sidechain High Pass knobs, External Sidechain support, Peak Clip, and Advanced Oversampling.

External sidechain support
If used subtly on the main bus this produces gorgeously smooth and transparent compression that never goes out of style. When used heavily on a drum bus the classic "crack" of the attack portion of drums is produced, adding impact while controlling levels. The sidechain "detector" is a diode based envelope follower that smooths out the audio being sent to it. The detected amplitude of the sidechain input is used to control the level of the main signal, but is also sent to control the level of the input to the detector itself, in what is called a feed-back loop. This gives a different result to a feed-forward compressor, where the detector only changes the level of the main signal.

Peak clip functionality
Forming the core of the smooth behaviour of The Glue is an analog modelled dual diode envelope follower, which is solved using optimised nodal analysis. This results in a "soft maximum", as the smoothed sum of both the left and right detected amplitude is used to control the stereo level. This is called "stereo linking", and results in no change in the stereo image, as both left and right VCAs use the same detected voltage to set their gain amounts. In The Glue you can also vary how much the detectors are linked in 25% steps down to dual mono behaviour.

Advanced oversampling (x2, x4, x8)
A new addition to the original circuit is the Range knob, which controls the maximum dynamic swing in changes of compression. When set to full this control preserves the behaviour of the cleanest analog circuit, but the Range can be reduced slightly to emulate older units, or drastically for new creative control. If you want to reduce compression pump due to loud low frequency components the built in soft -6 dB/Oct high pass filter can be used to filter the signal being detected, and the Mix knob cross fades the dry input signal with the compressed signal in a phase accurate manner.

Cytomic plugins allow reduction of aliasing by any amount you want with very high quality oversampling filters, at the cost of a little latency and cpu. There are separate oversampling settings for realtime use and offline renders, with x2 realtime and x8 offline recommended. If you prefer to save cpu and have zero latency this is also possible by disabling all oversampling, and minimum phase, intermediate phase and linear phase modes trade latency against phase alignment.

description: "Very detailed discrete component model of the classic green Tube
Screamer pedal with input and output class-A transistor buffers, Boyle

Every component value can be modified and randomized
The Scream is a detailed discrete component model of the classic green TS808 "Tube Screamer" pedal. It has input and output class-A transistor buffers, Boyle macro modelled op-amps, and a selection of fully customisable clipping diodes. In fact every value of every component can be changed and randomised to customise your tone. Choose from a selection of diodes including silicon, germanium, or LEDs to create asymmetric clipping combinations, chain any number of diodes in series or even bypass them altogether and have a high gain boost that then clips the op-amp.

Multiple diode options: silicon, germanium, LEDs
The Scream models the TS-808 precisely, right down to individual components, which you can see on the circuit schematic which pops out to the right by clicking the top right hand corner of the gui interface. Once the circuit is exposed you can adjust the components either manually, or by using the randomisation feature.

Asymmetric clipping combinations
The Randomisation "Rand" Panel allows you to assign new random values to every component, and parameter of the component, in the entire model, in stereo. To simulate having multiple pedals built during the same production run with slightly exaggerated manufacturing variation of component values it is recommended to use the following default settings: Mono 50% x1, Stereo 25% x1. Keep generating variations to explore sounds you like, and move back and forth between iterations using the dots across the bottom of the GUI.

Serial diode chaining capability
The Mod switch selects which circuit modification is active, Mod 1 or Mod 2. Each mod slot can contain an entirely new set of values for every component in the entire circuit model (in stereo), and switching between the two can be done on the fly or via DAW automation. Modifications to the circuit can be done using the Mods Panel, the Rand Panel, or the Schematic View, and any changes are stored over time in the undo bar shown in both the Mods and Rand panels.

Cytomic plugins allow reduction of aliasing by any amount you want with very high quality oversampling filters, at the cost of a little latency and cpu. There are separate oversampling settings for realtime use and offline renders, with x2 for realtime and x8 for offline render recommended, or all oversampling can be disabled for zero latency. Minimum phase (lowest latency), intermediate phase (medium latency) and linear phase (highest latency) modes are available.
