I checked the full 5→8 version history and confirmed 6.0.2 and 7.0.1 are still plain CJS with the old factory-function API — the ESM/class rewrite happened only in 8.0.0. I verified 7.0.1 in an isolated scratch install using the exact same pipe/append/finalize pattern this repo uses, and it passed with zero code changes. |
