Summary

  • add preflight, graceful handover, verification, and recovery guidance for self-hosted Multi-Cluster Replication
  • document API forwarding, backfill, Schedule readiness, delete replication, passive database cleanup, Search Attributes, and Global Namespace deletion
  • add passive-first upgrade order and clarify Archival behavior for Global Namespaces
  • add the replication, handover, and redirection metrics needed to operate a failover

Source review

Reviewed the public graceful-handover, server-upgrade, standby SQL database growth, and Archival outage playbooks. The documentation includes stable operator behavior that is also verified against the current Temporal Server source. It omits environment-specific dashboards and alerts, direct-database cleanup procedures, temporary workaround programs, and version-stale configuration.

Validation

  • Vale on the four changed files: 0 errors and 0 warnings; 7 pre-existing heading suggestions
  • yarn check:metrics: passed
  • git diff --check: passed
  • Docusaurus production build compiled all pages and reached global link validation; it is blocked only by an unrelated generated AI Cookbook link from /ai/cookbook/claim-check-pattern-python to /evaluate/cloud/limits
  • yarn check-links is blocked in this environment by external DNS resolution; the generated pages and anchors for the changed routes were present and Docusaurus reported no broken links from these edits
