I am not here to convince you I am perfect. I am here to show, through evidence, why I might be a strong candidate.
I started my career long before the current AI era, building software across startups and enterprise environments. That experience gave me strong engineering fundamentals and AI has made me even more deliberate about them: maintainability, scalability, observability, API design, testability, performance, and a clear-eyed understanding of the business.
I bring 15+ years of experience building software products, including 5+ years in AI and traditional machine learning techniques. I am AI-fluent without losing sight of fundamental software engineering principles. I am also a published Elixir author and an open-source contributor to the Elixir ML ecosystem, including Nx and Scholar, with experience delivering impact from startups to enterprise.
Available exclusively for fully remote, worldwide positions.
🔵 CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
- Quality in the AI Era: identified gaps and mismatches between intended behavior, implementation, and the data used to validate it.
- Tech Leadership: helped other engineers avoid outsourcing their judgment to LLMs and confusing output volume with progress.
- 97% latency cut: reduced survey cloning from 16 hours to 30 minutes in Elixir/PostgreSQL.
- Sub-second analytics: improved performance over 75M+ data points (from a 35-second baseline) in Elixir/PostgreSQL.
- Production AI at scale: designed and deployed a RAG + Vector Search + LLM system (semantic search, classification, clustering) from scratch in Elixir/Python/Qdrant.
- Enterprise multi-tenancy: architected physical data isolation on Databricks + Elixir for compliance.
- Real-time edge platform: developed bidirectional sync between an Elixir cluster and 2,000+ embedded devices (Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson).
- Top 100 of 70,000+ developers in Latin America at IBM Behind the Code - twice (2020 & 2021).
